At BESTSECRET, we are building a next-generation profit optimization engine that determines how we buy, price, and present our products. Our mission is to design and own the system that drives business outcomes by orchestrating pricing, buying decisions, and product visibility into one coherent, profit-maximizing decision engine. We turn data into a strategic advantage by combining advanced analytics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and real-time decision-making to maximize revenue and efficiency. 

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to strengthen the data science foundation of our buying decision system. In this role, you will analyze complex e-commerce data, build and improve forecasting and prediction models, and translate model outputs into actionable buying recommendations that are integrated into our systems and used in real business decisions. 
 

Your Responsibilities 

• Take ownership of key data science and machine learning components within our buying decision system and help evolve them into a core part of our profit optimization engine.  

• Build, validate, deploy, and continuously improve forecasting models and prediction models that support better buying decisions, including demand forecasting and sales potential estimation.  

• Translate model outputs into actionable buying recommendations and decision rules by combining machine learning, optimization methods, and business logic in Python (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, CatBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch).  

• Apply experimentation, causal inference, and statistical analysis to separate true demand effects from confounding factors such as stockouts, price changes, visibility changes, and buyer selection effects.  

• Work in a cross-functional team with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to turn business problems into scalable data products.  

Your Qualifications 

• Several years of professional experience delivering end-to-end data science projects, from ideation to production and operations, ideally within the e-commerce, retail, or marketplace sector. Experience in demand forecasting, pricing optimization, supply chain optimization, or causal inference is a strong plus.  

• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline. Deep knowledge of economics is an advantage.  

• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python, as well as excellent foundations in statistical modeling, machine learning, data structures, and data visualization.  

• A hands-on, analytical, and problem-solving mindset, combined with strong teamwork skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.  

• Ability to translate complex business problems into data science solutions and connect model performance to business impact, including revenue, margin, and inventory risk.  

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
