We are currently looking for a Mid Level or Senior Backend Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Marketplace team that connects Best Secret to our sales partners. Or solution is built on a modern, Kubernetes-based tech stack using java/Spring Boot. Additionally, the team maintains a Python/AI based Invoice Parser application. You will be part of a dynamic, highly motivated team that values quality, ownership, and continuous improvement. 

Responsabilities

• Contribute to the design, development and management of our Marketplace solution, which is based on a state-of-the-art tech stack including java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, Datadog and Postgres DB.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Python and GenAI based Invoice Parser application.
• Cooperate closely with product teams, ensuring short release cycles while keeping full ownership of the products you contribute to.
• Work cross-functionally with other tech teams at BestSecret, especially ERP and Business Intelligence.
• Empower your team to strive for excellence and grow together with each challenge.
• Contribute to software design & architecture decisions to ensure that our solutions are resilient, scalable, and fulfill our stakeholders’ requirements. 

Qualification

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot is a plus) and good knowledge about event-driven architecture using Kafka and distributed systems.
• Practical experience with Python based development is a big asset.
• Experience with end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration & functional testing, deployment pipelines (Jenkins | GitLab), application tuning/profiling, and monitoring (ELK | Prometheus | Grafana).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (Azure is a plus) and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.  
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.  
• Knowledge in machine learning, analytics, data science, and data lakes (Starburst) is a plus.
• Demonstrated sense of ownership, independence, and a commitment to maintaining high quality, from clean code to application design and reliable software.
• Fluent in English, the primary working language across all teams. Knowledge of German is a plus.
